Click on the link above and you will read a news about a Malaysian superintendant found guilty of criminal activities (receiving moneys from illegal sources) of the total sum: RM 3.8 mil. As a result, he is jailed for 2 years and fined RM 1.75 mil.
Using simple arithmetic to analyze this scenario, we first establish the fact that he had actually gained RM 3.8 mil from his criminal activities, and as punishment for this "very serious" offense, he is fined RM 1.75 mil as well as 2 years in prison. This basically means that if you deduct from what he actually gained which is RM 3.8 mil and the amount of fine that he has to pay, RM 1.75 mil , (3.8 mil - 1.75 mil), you will get an outstanding balance of RM 2.05 mil. So how does the Malaysian court decides the way that he has to settle for this rest of RM 2 mil? By giving him 2 years of prison time.
So, using simple math we can deduce that if you're a Malaysian superintendant in Malaysia, RM 1 mil lands you 1 year in prison. Not a bad deal eh?
I oso want lehhhhhh :))
